Two farm livestock databases have signed on to the Ministry for Primary Industries FarmsOnLine national database.
Ovis Management and Johne’s Management have agreed to share their information with the database.
FarmsOnLine was launched last year to provide an up-to-date list of farm contact details in the event of a disease outbreak.
Contact information will be limited to farmers names, addresses, and phone numbers.
Joint Ovis and Johne’s chair Geoff Neilson says preserving New Zealand’s biosecurity is vital, and FarmsOnLine is an important part of that.
