Wool sales in the South Island enjoyed a small rise this week.
Almost 58 per cent of the 4200 bales put on sale were sold, with trading indicators increasing by 0.42 per cent.
The price of coarse crossbred fleece rose slightly by 1.5 per cent, with shorter shearers prices rising 3 per cent.
New Zealand Wool Services International general manager John Dawson says the number of bales on sale was down due to reluctance to sell at current prices.
However, it’s expected 7500 and 6300 bales from the North and South Islands will be sold on August 16 respectively.
