Flooding is expected as tropical cyclone Rusty moves inland from Western Australia's Pilbara coast and puts new towns on stand-by.
The eye of the massive storm made land just before three o'clock yesterday afternoon, more than 30 hours after the northwestern coastline was placed on Red Alert.
Late last night communities between Pardoo and Nullagine - including Marble Bar - were also placed on Red Alert and advised to go to shelters immediately.
Rusty is weakening in strength as it moves inland and wind gusts of more than 125 kilometres-an-hour are forecast at Marble Bar today
Flooding is expected in the De Grey catchment, and the threat of a dangerous storm tide remains for the coast between De Grey and Wallal.
