Cameron leaves daughter at pub

By: Newstalk ZB staff | World News | Tuesday June 12 2012 7:39

An embarrassing admission from David Cameron.

The British Prime Minister and his wife Samantha left their eight-year-old daughter Nancy at the pub after a weekend visit, each thinking she was in the other parent's car.

CNN's Dan Rivers says even worse, the news was broken by Newscorp tabloid The Sun.

"Some people speculating is this a bit of a shot across the bows by The Sun newspaper, basically saying to David Cameron 'despite all of this phone hacking scandal we can still find out the most intimate details about what's going on in your life and put it on the front page'."

The front page splash came just three days before Mr Cameron is due to testify at the phone hacking inquiry.
