ACC chief executive Ralph Stewart has announced he's stepping down from his position.
Only yesterday it was announced that chairman John Judge is to step down at the end of the month.
In a statement, Mr Stewart says the events of recent days and the departure of Mr Judge and a number of directors, has brought him to the point where he's decided to step down.
He's also told ACC staff they've made great strides in the plan to transform ACC and they shouldn't be distracted by current events.
Mr Stewart says it's been an incredibly hard decision to take and one that he's considered very carefully.
He says he's deeply frustrated that the benefits of the ACC scheme have been overshadowed by recent events.
