A Christchurch woman has lost her case after she tried to sue police for cutting off five piercings.
The woman in her thirties claimed a female officer ordered her to remove piercings from her tongue, belly button and genitals when she was arrested in May 2008.
It was alleged the officer used heavy bolt cutters to take off some of the piercings.
She took the case to court in September 2008, suing the officer for $150,000.
Her lawyer Tony Greig says the judge has suspicions something happened, but is not sufficiently satisfied to be able to rule in the complainant's favour.
