Brisbane forward Corey Parker's biggest enemy following surgery on his badly lacerated leg last night is infection.
Parker and his Queensland State of Origin teammate Billy Slater are both facing extended time on the sidelines.
Slater will have scans on a possible posterior cruciate tear on his return to Melbourne and is in serious doubt for the series decider at Suncorp Stadium on July 4 after NSW kept the Origin battle alive with a 16-12 win in game two.
Parker underwent surgery for a considerably nasty gash to his lower left leg which was infected by his own boot tags just after halftime and is expected to be released this morning.
